The Death of the Republic

I've been busy recently, but I did notice that we had suspended The Constitution of the United States of America. It is a shame. It will not be fun living in a dictatorship run by religious fundamentalists. Unfortunately, it seems that there is little interest in retaining the integrity of the governmental system we have had so far.

U.S. Constitution - Amendment 4 - The U.S. Constitution Online - USConstitution.net: "Amendment 4 - Search and seizure The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
Of course, I was not surprised that we could not find the will to impeach the President over the lies that led us to war in Iraq. It was a murky issue and while there are lots of grounds for impeachment, it is a signal sign of the decline and coming death of our society that the President can declare himself above the law and it garners little more than a yawn from those who are currently comfortable with the growing Dominionist movement. We've mentioned this before.
