Democrats Find a Spine

CNN.com - Senate Democrats force closed-door session - Nov 2, 2005: "Democrats forced the Senate into a temporary closed session Tuesday to pressure the Republican majority into completing an investigation of the intelligence underpinning the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Livid Republicans decried the Democrats' move as nothing more than 'a stunt.' Democrats demanded that Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts move forward on a promised investigation into how Bush administration officials handled prewar intelligence about Iraq's suspected weapons programs."
Harry Reid is being accused by the mainstream media of grandstanding. I would agree that it was dramatic, but no more dramatic than taking up a gun and defending your country from direct attack. It is remarkable that the Democratic party seems to be finding a voice and a spine. One of my favorite sites, Crooks and Liars, has the video of Senator Reid. I found it more enlightening than most commentary other than perhaps that of Mr. Cafferty.
