Republicans Returning - Fascism Remains

New York Times: G.O.P. Split Over Big Plans for Storm Spending: "We are not sure he knows what he is getting into," said one senior House Republican official who requested anonymity because of the potential consequences of publicly criticizing the administration.
On the one hand, one is encouraged to hear once again the Republicans beginning to return to the values of the party. It has been a long time since we heard anything from this party that resembled fiscally sound policy. The deficit has spiraled out of control and the Panderer In Chief has been the first US President to cut taxes while waging a war. No, we too aren't sure he knows what he is getting into. He seems to be playing at being President.

On the other hand, one is disturbed to hear continuing fear of the vicious retribution of this administration. If one felt that this was the only place one would hear of it, one would dismiss it as the paranoia of this one official. One is, however, hearing this a good bit more often than seems healthy for the Republic.

E tu Brute, indeed.
