Let Them Eat Cake

The Raw Story Newsweek flash: Bush approval 38%, 57% have lost confidence in U.S. to deal with disaster: "New York-President George W. Bush's approval ratings have fallen across the board in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and a seemingly flawed government response to the disaster, according to the latest Newsweek Poll. Bush's job-approval rating dropped to 38 percent, the lowest ever in the Newsweek Poll. Sixty-six percent of those polled say they are dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time; just 28 percent are satisfied, another record low in the poll. "
Has the country finally awakened from its peaceful wartime slumber? I can only hope, but let's not forget the Bu$hco marketing and disinformation team were all on vacation when Corrine (oops! Katrina) hit and now they're back firing on all cylinders, not wanting to play the "blame game." But as long as the Bush family keeps touring the shelters in their typical Marie Antioniette style and giving us all these great one liners as Babs Bush told the evacuees as they sat on their cots in the Astrodome, "this is working well for them." I think the elecorate might actually stayed tuned to a new breed of journalist who won't let them get a free pass with all of the obvious lies. Maybe they could even go back and finally get someone at the White House to explain where those WMD's are really hidden. I can only hope the retribution for this completely out of touch administration and their families is swift. "Let them eat cake."
