Given other posts today, one is reminded of the observation that the purpose of religion is to keep the poor from killing the rich. Since they don't have any sort of political science argument for the prevention of same-sex marriage, they must rely on the religious arguments which are, of course, exactly the same sort of argument used to enslave our african-american neighbors and to suppress the votes and opinions of women.
